| NewsPIKE to Occupy DTD House The Gamma Lambda chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha has been a non-residential fraternity since our colonization in 2009.. In the spring of 2011, the Lehigh chapter of Delta Tau Delta had its charter revoked, and was forced to vacate their house after investigations revealed numerous conduct violations. The Lehigh University administration decided it was too late in the school year to figure out what to do with the house for the 2011-2012 school year, but wanted the house to be occupied starting in 2012-2013. At first there was some consideration to have the fraternity house converted into a dormitory, or to be occupied by a non Greek-life club, such as the school marching band. However, the Lehigh System Wide Assessment Committee eventually released a report that recommended that one of two non-residential fraternities at Lehigh, Pi Kappa Alpha and Delta Chi, be selected to become the next tenants of the vacant fraternity house. After a lengthy application process that included both a written portion and a 45-minute presentation to a chapter selection committee, it was decided that Pike would be occupying the house starting in the fall of 2012. Stay tuned for much more information. PIKE: It Really Is Lifelong From smashing pumpkins to tearing down goal posts to the lifelong bonds shared as alumni, Lester Cheng '86 is thankful for countless experiences and memories he's had thanks to his membership in Pi Kappa Alpha. He says, "The deep friendships that have developed over 25+ years ago that I still have now and there are many other guys that have the same bonds and connections; it really is lifelong. You might not see a brother for many years, but when you do, it’s like only yesterday when you last saw each other." Click on the headline to read his full Q&A. All News |
